When Jeremias Herensuge came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the The Falkland Islands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Herensuge couldn't finish the play. Teofil Iwanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Astigar in the 5th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelino Gitano during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcelino Gitano kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Herminio Lucero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teofil Iwanowski. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Durham AFC's Severiano Gotzon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Txaran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Roberto Chinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Fausto Txaran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Jacinto Astigar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Falkland Islands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Astigar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Severiano Gotzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Txaran came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Durham AFC's Amador Ritchie. But to his dismay, Amador Ritchie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jacinto Astigar struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Teofil Iwanowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Falkland Islands. The The Falkland Islands players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Durham AFC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Jacinto Astigar made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Durham AFC's Severiano Gotzon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fausto Txaran. That made the score 1-3 after 51 minutes of play. With a little luck, The Falkland Islands's Fausto Txaran got control of the ball when Amador Ritchie tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute Cirilo Nuno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofil Iwanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Txaran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Chinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Nuno in the 63rd minute of play forced Durham AFC's goalkeeper Teofil Iwanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Txaran was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Amador Ritchie capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amador Ritchie really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. In the 74th minute, Severiano Gotzon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Txaran was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. 79 minutes into the match, Amador Ritchie notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of The Falkland Islands's Fausto Txaran. Fausto Txaran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fausto Txaran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roberto Chinto's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Teofil Iwanowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Lucero in the 85th minute of the match. Teofil Iwanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Astigar in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Lucero in the 90th minute of play forced Durham AFC's goalkeeper Teofil Iwanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Durham AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
