In the 8th minute, Teodoro Dorio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agustin Tomi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 10th minute, Nueva Chicago's Mariano Fertus ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind András Murai. András Murai yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Sergio Lauren took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Agustin Tomi. Nueva Chicago's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. András Murai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilfredo Salvatore in the 15th minute. Agustin Tomi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Karlo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nueva Chicago! In the 26th minute, Teodoro Dorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Federico Karlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustin Tomi having to interfere. Mariano Fertus struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. András Murai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nueva Chicago. Zacarias Hartz took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agustin Tomi. Agustin Tomi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. If Sergio Lauren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilfredo Salvatore hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Zacarias Hartz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The progreso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teodoro Dorio was the one to do the kick off. András Murai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Fertus in the 53rd minute of play. András Murai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Salvatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Zacarias Hartz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Agustin Tomi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Teodoro Dorio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Agustin Tomi, 1-5. 60 minutes into the game, progreso's Sergio Lauren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agustin Tomi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. A collision led to Nueva Chicago getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Lisandro Nuxila hit a great ball. Agustin Tomi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Federico Karlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Nueva Chicago's Agustin Tomi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarias Hartz in the 71st minute of play. After 72 minutes, Ariel Hondo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nueva Chicago and the progreso players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ariel Hondo kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Zacarias Hartz managed to get in a good position for a shot. progreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Zacarias Hartz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agustin Tomi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 74 played minutes Nueva Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Ariel Hondo. Nueva Chicago's Agustin Tomi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Nueva Chicago from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Sergio Lauren got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 78th minute, Federico Karlo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agustin Tomi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. In the 93rd minute, Teodoro Dorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Federico Karlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. progreso's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
