But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prudencio Checa couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Sergio Lauren could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Ildefonso Ikatz however easily saved by the left post. Ildefonso Ikatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Fernandez in the 20th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ceferino Formerio in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck András Murai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rdth minute of the game Hernan Mendez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but progreso's András Murai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 23 minutes, Hernan Mendez made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. progreso's András Murai tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jose Urti fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored progreso's protests and gave Jose Urti a yellow card for diving instead. After 31st play minutes Ceferino Formerio shot 0-2, a short shot which went by András Murai and just under the crossbar into goal. András Murai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernan Mendez went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 41stth minute of the game Hernan Mendez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but progreso's András Murai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Mendez came free, but András Murai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 played minutes progreso got a freekick which was hit by Prudencio Checa. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ceferino Formerio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Faraday FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceferino Formerio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. András Murai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Mendez in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg András Murai saved progreso from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

progreso's Zacarias Hartz was substituted for Rodolfo Videl. The wind increased when Gabriel Fernandez made the kick off in the second half.
