The audience was convinced that Uriel Cristofor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nereo Gasteiz was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. If Ioan Encuțescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Uriel Cristofor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ioan Encuțescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Ferdinand having to interfere.
