Alejo Quintun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elpidio Tomi. Persos United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Gaudencio Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tosquita FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Julio Abeijon hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Lucio Orlin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddy Otsoko. Tosquita FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucio Orlin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marcial Cedro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Elpidio Tomi made a huge save. When Leopoldo Uzuri fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tosquita FC's protests and gave Leopoldo Uzuri a yellow card for diving instead. Leopoldo Uzuri kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Persos United's Baldomero Mikeldi got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elpidio Tomi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Estevez in the 29th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Persos United's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmacio Petrigai came free, but Elpidio Tomi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match, Marcial Cedro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elpidio Tomi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Dalmacio Petrigai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elpidio Tomi. That made the score 1-1 in the 44 minute of play. Diego Estevez came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Elpidio Tomi could save by the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
