The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Cosme Resto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Berbiz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 3rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With his leg Hernan Firme managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Daireaux AFC's Angelino Ciano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arno Nuga kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Daniel Brun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Unión y Progreso Tandil's Hernan Firme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelino Ciano in the 15th minute of play. Hernan Firme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Ciano in the 19th minute of play. When Cícero Moura came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Unión y Progreso Tandil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cícero Moura couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosme Resto got free with Hernan Firme in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daireaux AFC's Mark Duncan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Brun in the 22nd minute of play. Haroldo Berbiz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Eduardo Raulo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hernan Firme was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Angelino Ciano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Brun in the 31st minute of play forced Daireaux AFC's goalkeeper Mark Duncan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gavino Sesuldo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Unión y Progreso Tandil got a freekick which was hit by Rene Erlantz. Rene Erlantz's late challenge caught a Daireaux AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Erlantz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Unión y Progreso Tandil's Rene Erlantz got a free kick in the 36th minute. With his leg Hernan Firme managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Daireaux AFC's Nestor Bono fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 44 minutes into the game, Unión y Progreso Tandil's Cícero Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mark Duncan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 47th match minute, Unión y Progreso Tandil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvio Arotza to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelino Ciano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hernan Firme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Resto, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Angelino Ciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hernan Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernan Firme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Resto, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 59 minutes, Angelino Ciano made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Unión y Progreso Tandil's Hernan Firme tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 62 played minutes Daireaux AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Raulo. Daireaux AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Cícero Moura scored to the left of an out of position Mark Duncan, making the score, 2-3. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Brun could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Mark Duncan however easily saved by the left post. Unión y Progreso Tandil were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Daireaux AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Haroldo Berbiz took the corner. The corner led Unión y Progreso Tandil's Haroldo Berbiz to fire away a dangerous shot which Mark Duncan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hernan Firme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Bono in the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Daireaux AFC's Mark Duncan got control of the ball when Daniel Brun tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Ciano in the 90th minute of play forced Unión y Progreso Tandil's goalkeeper Hernan Firme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Moura in the 92nd minute of play forced Daireaux AFC's goalkeeper Mark Duncan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelino Ciano in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernan Firme saved Unión y Progreso Tandil from getting behind. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Unión y Progreso Tandil had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
