AVE FENIX's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. German Tartalo took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldinho da Rocha. Ronaldinho da Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The supporters of AVE FENIX booed when Vélez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Adán didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Aureliano Bidari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vélez's supporters rose to their feet, but Aureliano Bidari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosme Ihintza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
