In the 6th minute of the match, Benedicto Lico got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Ostots was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Deportivo Pichincha FC's Justo Ostots got control of the ball when Benedicto Lico tried to sneak it across the goal line. Deportivo Pichincha FC's Justo Ostots proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pichincha FC from getting a goal against them. Ladislao Crescencio's late challenge caught a Santamarina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ladislao Crescencio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, Amado Francis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Boguslaw Makowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pichincha FC's Rene Ibon got a free kick in the 40th minute. Benedicto Lico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Justo Ostots tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pichincha FC's zone, Boguslaw Makowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Ostots came out of the goal and Boguslaw Makowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 53 minutes of play, Santamarina's Boguslaw Makowski made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Justo Ostots was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Deportivo Pichincha FC booed when Santamarina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugon Wojtowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justo Ostots came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Santamarina's Benedicto Lico. But to his dismay, Benedicto Lico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Nuno got free with Albino Senin in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benedicto Lico struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Justo Ostots didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santamarina. In the 76th minute Rene Ibon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Senin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Bernabe Vedillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Santamarina getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Michal Kanczuszewski hit a great ball. Benedicto Lico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Lico in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justo Ostots prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes of play, Santamarina's Benedicto Lico made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Justo Ostots was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boguslaw Makowski hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. If Augusto Nuno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Santamarina were the better team. Santamarina's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
