Independiente de América's Romeo Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Gudesteo in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Gudesteo in the 26th minute of play forced Independiente de América's goalkeeper Romeo Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes, Popcorn Doll mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ostendi and the Independiente de América players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nestor Aznaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeo Duarte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Gudesteo made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Emrullah Ergüleç hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Popcorn Doll in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robustiano Geofredo in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carmine Cruciani saved Ostendi from getting behind. If Amado Travieso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Popcorn Doll hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Carmine Cruciani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Geofredo in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Ostendi defense, Sebastien Rotherfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carmine Cruciani. The Ostendi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carmine Cruciani should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emrullah Ergüleç in the 90th minute of play forced Ostendi's goalkeeper Carmine Cruciani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmine Cruciani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emrullah Ergüleç, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
