Artemio Montrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Cristobal Rodriguez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celeste FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristobal Rodriguez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artemio Montrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Placido Luzea took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kees Bruinsma. Artemio Montrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristobal Rodriguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cristobal Rodriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Montrell having to interfere. After 39 minutes, Patricio Izotz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Escaloneta FC and the Celeste FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristobal Rodriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Montrell having to interfere. The Celeste FC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Celeste FC's Joar Wennerström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 45th minute, Placido Luzea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

After 94 played minutes Cristobal Rodriguez rounded La Escaloneta FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-4. Joar Wennerström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artemio Montrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Celeste FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than La Escaloneta FC throughout the match.
