With a little luck, Lechiguana's Ferdinando Aversano got control of the ball when Victoriano Millrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Los Picantes's Eric Formerio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinando Aversano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 29th minute, Alonzo Montxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute Eric Formerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinando Aversano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Los Picantes's Israel Bernabel to fire away a dangerous shot which Ferdinando Aversano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Patricio Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fidel Peruanton in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esteban Ovando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Eric Formerio came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Los Picantes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Formerio couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes, Victoriano Millrick made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Lechiguana's Ferdinando Aversano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Isac Lundqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Los Picantes booed when Lechiguana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victoriano Millrick was the one to do the kick off. Ferdinando Aversano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Formerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Formerio in the 55th minute of play forced Lechiguana's goalkeeper Ferdinando Aversano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinando Aversano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Formerio's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fidel Peruanton couldn't finish the play. Eric Formerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinando Aversano having to interfere. In the 98th minute of the match Gustavo Osorio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdinando Aversano skillfully saved the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lechiguana players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Los Picantes.
