Lucas Gonzales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Theodore having to interfere. When Ramon Elequemedo came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the San Lorenzo de Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Elequemedo couldn't finish the play. Ramon Elequemedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Anastasio Theodore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ruben Mitxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Ramon Elequemedo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Anastasio Theodore when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Silvano Fresco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Domingo Frutos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Ramon Elequemedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Ramon Elequemedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Elequemedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. San Lorenzo de Almagro were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Herrera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ramon Elequemedo took the corner. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Herrera's goalkeeper Anastasio Theodore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute Niceto Lesardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingo Frutos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingo Frutos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niceto Lesardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Lucas Gonzales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Domingo Raymon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Theodore having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Ruben Mitxel made a precise shot to the right of Anastasio Theodore. Herrera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruben Mitxel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marco Jaume was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Nicolas Romildo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Ramon Elequemedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anastasio Theodore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucas Gonzales's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Herrera's zone, Ramon Elequemedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anastasio Theodore came out of the goal and Ramon Elequemedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
