Napostá's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Michael Öman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Leonel Idacio fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Napostá's protests and gave Leonel Idacio a yellow card for diving instead. Leonel Idacio hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Emilio Roldan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cipriano Harkaitz, 1-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Everardo Cordarryl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emilio Roldan was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sakis Souanis during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Napostá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sakis Souanis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
