Eduardo Rodrigues's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Guaberto Eriz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's Eduardo Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eduardo Rodrigues in the 12th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Guaberto Eriz kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After having played for 17 minutes, Eduardo Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Honorio Lizar notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's Astor Natanael. Astor Natanael was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guaberto Eriz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Palermo Futbol Club's Claudio Efren got a free kick in the 27th minute. Gabriel Batistuta was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gaudencio Ereinotz's late challenge caught a CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaudencio Ereinotz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Palermo Futbol Club's Gaudencio Ereinotz got a free kick in the 31st minute. Felipe Serafo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Natanael having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Eduardo Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Pereyra couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Eduardo Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Eriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Eduardo Rodrigues sped through Palermo Futbol Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guaberto Eriz. 74 minutes into the match, Palermo Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Rodrigues came free, but Guaberto Eriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matias Pereyra took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guaberto Eriz. Guaberto Eriz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Rodrigues in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guaberto Eriz saved Palermo Futbol Club from getting behind. Guaberto Eriz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. The supporters of Palermo Futbol Club booed when CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Panfilo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Gonza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, one of Palermo Futbol Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palermo Futbol Club. 95 minutes into the match, Eduardo Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guaberto Eriz. Palermo Futbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. There was no doubt that CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ were the better team. CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
