In the 13th minute Rogelio Larralde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Mundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Mundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Larralde, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Sidónio Candeias took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgard Mundo. Edgard Mundo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, CUBANO's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Pelayo came free, but Edgard Mundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Newell´s fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Newell´s's Jesus Gitano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Newell´s from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute CUBANO were awarded a corner. Rogelio Furman went to the cornerflag to take it. CUBANO's Rogelio Furman was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jesus Gitano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Newell´s's Jesus Gitano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Crispo in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Rogelio Larralde had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Mundo. CUBANO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Larralde was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Edgard Mundo came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Newell´s's Gaspar Pelayo. But to his dismay, Gaspar Pelayo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaspar Crispo to make the kick off. Edgard Mundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Larralde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Pelayo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard Mundo was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Gaspar Pelayo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edgard Mundo came out and tried to block the shot, but Gaspar Pelayo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 54th minute. Newell´s made a substitution. In the 69th minute of the match, Tzvetomir Gruykin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edgard Mundo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Edgard Mundo was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Tzvetomir Gruykin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tzvetomir Gruykin really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Jesus Gitano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Daunte in the 75th minute of the match. Sidónio Candeias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Edgard Mundo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, CUBANO's Gonzalo Estebano got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Delmar Ixaka hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Edgard Mundo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tzvetomir Gruykin went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score. The CUBANO fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Newell´s were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
