To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Emiliano Daunte came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the CUBANO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Daunte couldn't finish the play. Gonzalo Estebano struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Aureliano Chinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CUBANO. After a defensive mix-up in Paula AFC's zone, Emiliano Daunte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aureliano Chinto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaspar Crispo's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Emiliano Daunte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Chinto having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Apolo Polo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paula AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Apolo Polo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Mundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CUBANO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Daunte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogelio Furman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaspar Crispo made a kick off. Edgard Mundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Polo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
