The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Robustiano Hats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramon Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Hats in the 5th minute of the match. Atlético Melipal's Ramon Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Hats in the 7th minute of play. Aurelio Ponc charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelio Ponc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atlético Melipal's Aurelio Ponc got a free kick in the 11th minute. When Remigio Evis came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Durazno FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Evis couldn't finish the play. Ramon Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Hats in the 21st minute of the match. Robustiano Hats received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ramon Selatse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robustiano Hats in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ramon Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Hernandez in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match Durazno FC got a corner. Atlético Melipal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fulgencio Isidor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ramon Selatse came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Durazno FC's Robustiano Hats. But to his dismay, Robustiano Hats quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 34 minutes, Robustiano Hats managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Durazno FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robustiano Hats was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robustiano Hats in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rene Mergildo's late challenge caught a Durazno FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Mergildo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, Atlético Melipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Mergildo to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Selatse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Hernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Fulgencio Isidor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Durazno FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Romeo Hernandez came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ramon Selatse could save by the left post. Fulgencio Isidor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Selatse having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robustiano Hats in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Melipal's goalkeeper Ramon Selatse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Romeo Hernandez scored 0-4 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramon Selatse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ramon Selatse made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Hernandez in the 69th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Hernandez got free with Ramon Selatse in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Durazno FC's Robustiano Hats in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético Melipal's goalie prevented a goal. Robustiano Hats hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Atlético Melipal defense, Robustiano Hats kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramon Selatse. The Atlético Melipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramon Selatse should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Hats in the 86th minute of play forced Atlético Melipal's goalkeeper Ramon Selatse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robustiano Hats did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-7 to the left of a surprised Ramon Selatse 95 minutes into the match.
