Hipolito Tolino might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesus Tipi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Yader Postigo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ovidio Cutberto to make any attempt to save it. Ovidio Cutberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hilario Montae in the 16th minute of the match. In the 20th minute of the match, Valentin Pere tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ovidio Cutberto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipolito Tolino in the 24th minute of play forced Los Punteros's goalkeeper Jesus Tipi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ongamira getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Marcelo Elodio hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Ovidio Cutberto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 40 played minutes Ongamira got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Salvidor. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Valentin Pere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Punteros's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentin Pere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidio Cutberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the match, Ongamira's goalkeeper Ovidio Cutberto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anibal Pacorro. 48 minutes into the match, Los Punteros's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Ganix came free, but Jesus Tipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Hipolito Tolino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jesus Tipi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ovidio Cutberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Montae, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Los Punteros fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ongamira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
