Amado Txilar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Goiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute of the match Gran Pauta AFC got a corner. Tandil fútbol club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Norberto Maxin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fernan Hegoi's late challenge caught a Gran Pauta AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernan Hegoi helped the player get up and apologised. Tandil fútbol club's Amado Txilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Min in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Rosendo Madeo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute of the match Gran Pauta AFC got a corner. Tandil fútbol club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amado Txilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gran Pauta AFC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miklós Győrffy to make the kick off. Rosendo Madeo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosendo Madeo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Gran Pauta AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 55th minute, Rosendo Madeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Aureliano Peru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Rosendo Madeo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gran Pauta AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rosendo Madeo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Txilar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amado Txilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Madeo in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tandil fútbol club's goalkeeper Amado Txilar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aureliano Peru got free with Amado Txilar in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Rosendo Madeo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 played minutes Tandil fútbol club got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Cuartio. Norberto Maxin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Amado Txilar made a huge save. With a little luck, Tandil fútbol club's Amado Txilar got control of the ball when Aureliano Peru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aureliano Peru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Txilar having to interfere.
