A beautiful save bye DE LA SALLE's goalie prevented a goal. Jesus Nuno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Olayo in the 7th minute of play. After some careless play in the DE LA SALLE defense, Haroldo Olayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesus Nuno. The DE LA SALLE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Nuno should have stopped the shot. Teodoro Cuarto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rogelio Claris came out and tried to block the shot, but Teodoro Cuarto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 12th minute. The supporters of Unión La Plata booed when DE LA SALLE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Dolcet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roberto Ezkerra, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Haroldo Olayo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jesus Nuno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26th minute Patricio Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Nuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Hermelando took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogelio Claris. Rogelio Claris dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After 30 minutes, Roberto Ezkerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Unión La Plata and the DE LA SALLE players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Unión La Plata's Roberto Ezkerra got a free kick in the 30th minute. Rogelio Claris stood somewhat misplaced when Guaberto Millano came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 36 minute. 3-3 became the score in the 41st minute when Haroldo Olayo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jesus Nuno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Gilesindo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Salvador Gilesindo was the one to do the kick off. Jesus Nuno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Gilesindo in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the match, DE LA SALLE's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Olayo came free, but Jesus Nuno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by DE LA SALLE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roberto Ezkerra was slow to take the kick. During this time Unión La Plata's players had a chance to rest. In the 72nd minute Guaberto Millano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Claris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogelio Claris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Millano, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. DE LA SALLE's Jesus Nuno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Olayo in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Patricio Nofre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Unión La Plata's Octavio Jerold got a free kick in the 87th minute. Rogelio Claris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Cuarto went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. DE LA SALLE were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Unión La Plata for a fine match.
