Miklós Győrffy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Claris having to interfere. Amado Txilar came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Unión La Plata's Patricio Nofre. But to his dismay, Patricio Nofre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Amado Txilar stood somewhat misplaced when Salvador Gilesindo came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 21 minute. Haroldo Olayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Amado Txilar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amado Txilar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Olayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Tandil fútbol club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Salvador Gilesindo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Tandil fútbol club's Amado Txilar got control of the ball when Gaspar Muno tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miklós Győrffy was the one to do the kick off. If Haroldo Olayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Nofre in the 61st minute of play forced Tandil fútbol club's goalkeeper Amado Txilar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 played minutes Tandil fútbol club got a freekick which was hit by Miklós Győrffy. After 67 played minutes Unión La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Lleir. Amado Txilar came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Unión La Plata's Haroldo Olayo. But to his dismay, Haroldo Olayo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 76th minute, Haroldo Olayo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Unión La Plata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After some careless play in the Tandil fútbol club defense, Salvador Gilesindo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Txilar. The Tandil fútbol club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Txilar should have stopped the shot. The tension between the Tandil fútbol club and the Unión La Plata players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Unión La Plata booed when Tandil fútbol club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Piearres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amado Txilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Nofre in the 93rd minute of play. Haroldo Olayo took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Txilar. Amado Txilar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. There was no doubt that Unión La Plata were the better team. Unión La Plata's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
