Melchor Lixandro charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Melchor Lixandro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Melchor Lixandro hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the game, Aníbal Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roberto Gorosti. Aníbal Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Teodoro de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 17th play minutes Aníbal Santana shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Roberto Gorosti and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 20thth minute of the game Aníbal Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, Girardet's Roberto Gorosti threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aníbal Santana, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roberto Gorosti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Santana in the 23rd minute of the match. Roberto Gorosti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro de Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Teodoro de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Gorosti stood somewhat misplaced when Aníbal Santana came free in front of goal and shot 6-0 to the left of him in the 32 minute. Aníbal Santana succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 7-0 in the 35th playminute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Melchor Lixandro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro de Salles in the 53rd minute of play. After 58 minutes, Aníbal Santana made it 11-0 with a short kick to the right side. Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Roberto Gorosti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Santana in the 61st minute of play. Roberto Gorosti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodoro de Salles's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. When Aníbal Santana came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Girardet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Santana couldn't finish the play. Teodoro de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute Teodoro de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Gorosti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Girardet fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Girardet's Aníbal Santana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 12-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 74th minute, Aníbal Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Girardet fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 14-0. After 78 minutes of play, Girardet's Aníbal Santana made it 15-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roberto Gorosti was left in no man's land by his defense there! 80 minutes into the match, Aníbal Santana notched a goal, 16-0, to the right of Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti. Roberto Gorosti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 84 minutes, Teodoro de Salles made it 17-0 with a short kick to the right side. Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Gimnasia y Tiro's Roberto Gorosti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Santana in the 88th minute of play. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 18-0 when Teodoro de Salles sped through Club Gimnasia y Tiro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roberto Gorosti. Girardet's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
