Anier Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gogo Vitin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 played minutes Puerto Nuevo got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Licerio. Jimeno Betadur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Canor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jimeno Betadur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valeriu Frumuzache in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Valeriu Frumuzache dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jimeno Betadur, 1-0. Jimeno Betadur came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Rio de La Plata FC's Maximiliano Canor. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Canor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Canor in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jimeno Betadur saved Puerto Nuevo from getting behind. Puerto Nuevo's Jimeno Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Canor in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes Puerto Nuevo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gregorio Semeno who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in Puerto Nuevo's zone, Maximiliano Canor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimeno Betadur came out of the goal and Maximiliano Canor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Canor in the 41st minute of play forced Puerto Nuevo's goalkeeper Jimeno Betadur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rio de La Plata FC's zone, Anier Tabb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Cordario came out of the goal and Anier Tabb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gogo Vitin came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Puerto Nuevo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Vitin couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maximiliano Canor was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Maximiliano Canor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimeno Betadur. Puerto Nuevo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximiliano Canor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Maximiliano Canor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jimeno Betadur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valeriu Frumuzache, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Maximiliano Canor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 63 minutes, Anier Tabb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Puerto Nuevo and the Rio de La Plata FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anier Tabb hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Cordario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anier Tabb in the 66th minute of the match. Jimeno Betadur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Frumuzache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jimeno Betadur came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Rio de La Plata FC's Maximiliano Canor. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Canor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Paolo Papo charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paolo Papo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th minute, Paolo Papo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Canor in the 79th minute of play forced Puerto Nuevo's goalkeeper Jimeno Betadur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paolo Papo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rio de La Plata FC booed when Puerto Nuevo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Papo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jimeno Betadur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Canor in the 88th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Vicente Ubarna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio de La Plata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Ubarna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rio de La Plata FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
