With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Short prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.A.U.V.K's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leopoldo Cesaro was slow to take the kick. During this time Atletic Club Araucaria's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Atletic Club Araucaria's corner Leopoldo Cesaro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Roger Short quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lino Heli in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roger Short saved C.A.U.V.K from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to Atletic Club Araucaria getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Honorato Bernad hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes Atletic Club Araucaria got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Meléndez. If Urbano Castulo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Atletic Club Araucaria's Simon Roldan got a free kick in the 58th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saverio Marz got free with Abdul Majid Awat in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atletic Club Araucaria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.U.V.K the free kick. Despite being the better team, Atletic Club Araucaria failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
