Delmar Abar ran back to his position shaking his head. Hernan Mitxaut made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Melquiades Estebe sent off a good shot on target. Ismael Poncio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celedonio Arias went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Ismael Poncio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Batista in the 31st minute of the match. Darregueira FC's Melquiades Batista managed to work through Aserradero FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Melquiades Batista dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The supporters of Darregueira FC booed when Aserradero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Eriz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnoldo Cibran kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Aserradero FC's goalkeeper Ismael Poncio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ismael Poncio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Arias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ismael Poncio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Cheche in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of Darregueira FC booed when Aserradero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Joachim didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melquiades Batista to make the kick off. Gabriel Cheche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Ismael Poncio made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Batista in the 70th minute of play forced Aserradero FC's goalkeeper Ismael Poncio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st match minute, Aserradero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casemiro Joinvilense to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the game, Melquiades Batista recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ismael Poncio. The Darregueira FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Darregueira FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
