Felix Gonzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aserradero FC's Ismael Poncio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Ekain in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Aserradero FC's goalkeeper Ismael Poncio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Urre. In the 23rd minute of the match Rayo Vallecano got a corner. Aserradero FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jonathan Txindoki ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rayo Vallecano's Jonathan Txindoki was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ismael Poncio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Delmar Abar scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Gonzo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Gonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmar Abar in the 34th minute of the match. Arsenio Artal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Gonzo having to interfere. Felix Gonzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Abar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 40 minutes, Rogelio Gelmiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rayo Vallecano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Gelmiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmar Abar in the 42nd minute of play forced Rayo Vallecano's goalkeeper Felix Gonzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arsenio Artal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Felix Gonzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delmar Abar to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Delmar Abar in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Gonzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Poncio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Ekain in the 61st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delmar Abar in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Gonzo saved Rayo Vallecano from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Rayo Vallecano's goalkeeper Felix Gonzo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Melquiades Estebe. Melquiades Estebe in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Felix Gonzo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 77th match minute, Aserradero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Eriz to maneuver through the defense. Aserradero FC made a substitution. Basilio Osmundo replaced Arsenio Artal. The supporters of Rayo Vallecano booed when Aserradero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Eriz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rayo Vallecano's Felix Gonzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Rayo Vallecano from getting a goal against them.
