But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Txindoki hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the game, Los Hijos Del Pellegrini's Cristian Pirro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rayo Vallecano's Felix Gonzo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Cristian Pirro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Los Hijos Del Pellegrini fully deserved thier win.
