The throw-in from Teo Barrionuevo in the 47th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ejército Soviético's Guaberto Onofre. After 48 played minutes Ejército Soviético got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Liher. Ariel Cristante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Hodei in the 49th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Lehen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Severino Ralondo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 56 played minutes Ejército Soviético got a freekick which was hit by Damian Emmanuel. Pedro Toribio struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Ariel Cristante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón FC. 60 minutes into the game, Severino Ralondo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colón FC's Florencio Franco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 61 minutes into the match, Gaspar Hodei notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Ejército Soviético's Ariel Cristante. Ariel Cristante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ariel Cristante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Hodei in the 66th minute of the match. Damian Emmanuel charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Emmanuel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florencio Franco in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ariel Cristante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ejército Soviético's goalkeeper Ariel Cristante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th match minute, Ejército Soviético was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Liher to maneuver through the defense. Ariel Cristante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Toribio, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Gaspar Hodei scored 5-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Cristante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute Gaspar Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Cristante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Pedro Toribio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colón FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Toribio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Cristante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ariel Cristante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Toribio in the 93rd minute of play. Anacleto Montxo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes, Ejército Soviético's Simon Lehen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Americo Cilio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ejército Soviético reached it. Colón FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
