But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Montes couldn't finish the play. After 10 minutes of play, Embalse's Victoriano Paul made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Generoso Sasoin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Genaro Sabin struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Serafin Mederi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gloria Verdinegra AFC. Victoriano Paul charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victoriano Paul the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Embalse getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Favila in the 47th minute of play forced Embalse's goalkeeper Serafin Mederi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Gloria Verdinegra AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leon Montes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. In the 88th minute Victoriano Paul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Sasoin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute Horacio Iztal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Mederi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
