Embalse's Serafin Mederi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesar Rojelio in the 31st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximino Pedroso during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Embalse got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Paul. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Cesar Rojelio got a free kick in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Cesar Rojelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesar Rojelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafin Mederi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaudencio Gutxi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The supporters of Embalse booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosendo Tomi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Elias Gervaso fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Elias Gervaso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Gervaso to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 96 minutes, Leon Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Embalse's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Montes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Embalse supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching River Plate's performance. The match ended with a win for River Plate.
