The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute Filomeno Distiratsu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 2 minutes, Moises Quintyn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Albiceleste and the River players grew even worse after the yellow card. River's Severo Gabino was substituted for Filomeno Distiratsu. A collision led to La Albiceleste getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Moises Quintyn hit a great ball. After some careless play in the La Albiceleste defense, Gaetan Slaghmeulders kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabricio Lonzo. The La Albiceleste fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabricio Lonzo should have stopped the shot. Nereo Argina struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Fabricio Lonzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River. 37 minutes into the match, Nereo Argina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabricio Lonzo. La Albiceleste's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Argina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. 41 minutes into the match, Wilfried Van Cauwenberg notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of La Albiceleste's Fabricio Lonzo. Fabricio Lonzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The La Albiceleste players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. River were winning 0-6.

In the 52nd minute, River's Nereo Argina dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. La Albiceleste's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Nereo Argina scored to the left of an out of position Fabricio Lonzo, making the score, 0-8. In the 60th minute, River's Wilfried Van Cauwenberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabricio Lonzo. Fabricio Lonzo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-9. Anibal Bizi hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Nereo Argina took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Fabricio Lonzo to make any attempt to save it. Fabricio Lonzo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilfried Van Cauwenberg went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-12 was the resulting score. Nereo Argina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabricio Lonzo having to make a save. The La Albiceleste fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
