The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alvaro Goyo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Millán protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alvaro Goyo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Villa Castells's Nicolas Arnas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Carmelo Acevedo. 21 minutes into the game, Nicasio Orland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Millán 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Castells the free kick. In the 21st minute, Nicasio Orland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Castells's zone, Nicasio Orland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciriaco Perutxo came out of the goal and Nicasio Orland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogelio Perico charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogelio Perico the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, one of Villa Castells:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villa Castells. Silvio Hotz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Carmelo Acevedo made a huge save. Roger Linhares scored 4-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carmelo Acevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Salvador Edwardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carmelo Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Edwardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Millán 's Everardo Lizardi got a free kick in the 55th minute. The supporters of Villa Castells booed when Millán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Hitzeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Millán 's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Arnas came free, but Carmelo Acevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Millán 's Carmelo Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Edwardo in the 75th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Millán 's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Edwardo came free, but Carmelo Acevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everardo Lizardi hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Nicasio Orland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmelo Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Arnas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the game, Villa Castells's Roger Linhares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carmelo Acevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Salvador Edwardo struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Carmelo Acevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Castells. Carmelo Acevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Villa Castells fully deserved thier win.
