Haroldo Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lisandro Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Ado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Bastiaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 14 minutes Argentinos Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lisandro Richie who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on 9 De Julio de Rafaela's corner Lisandro Richie fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leon Ado quite easily take care of the ball. After 15th play minutes Elvio Bastiaro shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Leon Ado and just under the crossbar into goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teobald Galagan in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando Chorache saved 9 De Julio de Rafaela from getting behind. In the 23rd minute Elvio Bastiaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Ado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute 9 De Julio de Rafaela were awarded a corner. Lisandro Richie went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elvio Bastiaro in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Ado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Elvio Bastiaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon Ado was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Argentinos Juniors's Leon Ado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Richie in the 32nd minute of play. In the 40th minute Teobald Galagan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Chorache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Argentinos Juniors's zone, Elvio Bastiaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Ado came out of the goal and Elvio Bastiaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Abechuco in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Ado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Lobo during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roberto Lobo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half 9 De Julio de Rafaela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teobald Galagan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 58 minutes, Celedonio Bertran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Argentinos Juniors and the 9 De Julio de Rafaela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Argentinos Juniors's Celedonio Bertran got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th match minute, 9 De Julio de Rafaela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Shepherd to maneuver through the defense. If Froilan Macario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elvio Bastiaro got free with Leon Ado in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leon Ado was a little too slow when Lisandro Richie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 0-2. Froilan Macario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Orlando Chorache having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Lisandro Richie could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Leon Ado however easily saved by the left post. The audience was convinced that Elvio Bastiaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon Ado was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Felix Lucescu made a precise shot to the right of Orlando Chorache. 9 De Julio de Rafaela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. When 9 De Julio de Rafaela's Elvio Bastiaro in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match was over 9 De Julio de Rafaela could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Argentinos Juniors throughout the match.
