The audience was convinced that Jimeno Venerando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Formerio was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Edelmiro Corderall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Albano Aztore made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Jimeno Venerando put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Reynaldo Formerio. Jimeno Venerando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Abascal in the 19th minute of play forced Fumasche's goalkeeper Reynaldo Formerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Adrian Dominic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 32 minutes, Leandro Xabier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fumasche and the Gimnasia L.P. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gimnasia L.P. booed when Fumasche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Xabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogelio Abascal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Reynaldo Formerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saverio Calisto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reynaldo Formerio having to make a save. In the 42nd minute Jimeno Venerando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Formerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Formerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Abascal in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roberto Balasi to strike the kick off in the second half. Albano Aztore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Lando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albano Aztore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Lando, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo Formerio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th minute of the match Martin Gorbea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reynaldo Formerio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edelmiro Corderall in the 77th minute of play forced Gimnasia L.P.'s goalkeeper Albano Aztore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Gimnasia L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Xabier came free, but Albano Aztore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
