The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernard McFrank during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Zecku. Wilfredo Lazcano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Schembri. 0-1. David Schembri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor Peake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Júlio Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Zecku fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Vaz couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Vaz in the 19th minute of play forced Northern California's goalkeeper David Schembri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Ivor Peake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Schembri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Rocks took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Schembri. David Schembri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. David Schembri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor Peake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petre Encuțescu came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Northern California's Leandro Chorche. But to his dismay, Leandro Chorche quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. David Schembri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emīls Umbrass in the 32nd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Northern California's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Vaz came free, but David Schembri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Schembri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Rocks in the 41st minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zecku made a substitution. Isidoro Manilan replaced Amadeo Pudes. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emīls Umbrass stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. David Schembri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Vaz's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Júlio Vaz put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of David Schembri. David Schembri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emīls Umbrass in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Leandro Chorche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northern California's supporters rose to their feet, but Leandro Chorche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petre Encuțescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Serafin Ilazki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emīls Umbrass in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Schembri saved Northern California from getting behind. In the 64th minute Conrado Frans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Encuțescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Vaz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, David Schembri skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 73 minutes into the match, Northern California's goalkeeper David Schembri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Vaz. The crowd rose to their feet as Zecku's Emīls Umbrass slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Schembri. That made the score 1-6 after 75 minutes of play. Petre Encuțescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Frans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Rocks hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. David Schembri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Rocks in the 86th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Antonio Guillelme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Encuțescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zecku had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
