After 13 minutes Club Atlético Coghlan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Iker Olentzaro who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Iker Olentzaro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atlético Coghlan's Victor Lluc did a great save. In the 15th minute, Santiago Solari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. CASBAS's Aurelio Fernado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Vermudo in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Coghlan's goalkeeper Victor Lluc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santiago Solari. After some careless play in the CASBAS defense, Cornelio Ascencio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelio Fernado. The CASBAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Fernado should have stopped the shot. Iker Olentzaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Victor Lluc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Dario Mitxaut cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Aurelio Fernado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the match, CASBAS's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Henry came free, but Aurelio Fernado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 played minutes CASBAS got a freekick which was hit by Severo Gines. Aurelio Fernado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Ascencio in the 41st minute of play. Club Atlético Coghlan's Victor Lluc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Coghlan from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iker Olentzaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Victor Lluc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
