After some careless play in the Sport Club Abrilense defense, Mercurio Matta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loris Karius. The Sport Club Abrilense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Loris Karius should have stopped the shot. In the 7th minute Atilano Haimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loris Karius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coquena FC were furious when Amancio Florinio was red carded, 8 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 9 played minutes Coquena FC got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Florinio. Inocencio Dominguez made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Dan Rüdy sent off a good shot on target. Loris Karius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafal Jarosiewicz in the 16th minute of the match. Inocencio Dominguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Rüdy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inocencio Dominguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 45th minute, Cléber Catarinense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Abrilense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Coquena FC's Atilano Haimar got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Ciocârlan in the 55th minute of play forced Coquena FC's goalkeeper Inocencio Dominguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inocencio Dominguez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Bruggink in the 57th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Dan Rüdy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. After 87 played minutes Coquena FC got a freekick which was hit by Carsten Hoby. Inocencio Dominguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Rüdy, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Inocencio Dominguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Rüdy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Coquena FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
