With a little luck, BATIgol FC's Angel Peruzzi got control of the ball when Ruperto Bide tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Urbasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Elija, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Gunners's Cipriano Urbasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Elija in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Julian Unax notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gunners's Cipriano Urbasa. Cipriano Urbasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was a well-played corner which Romeo Millano managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 39thth minute of the game Julian Unax who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gunners's Cipriano Urbasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Angel Peruzzi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. BATIgol FC's Angel Peruzzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save BATIgol FC from getting a goal against them. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for BATIgol FC! 46 minutes into the match, Mauricio Mingo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angel Peruzzi. BATIgol FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauricio Mingo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The Gunners fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
