The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 6 minutes, Matijs Van Impe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atilano Medero might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lennart Kvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Atilano Medero ran back to his position shaking his head. Lennart Kvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Atilano Medero in the 9th minute. Pastor Domeka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Boca Juniors's Pastor Domeka in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LCPP's goalie prevented a goal. Pastor Domeka struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Lennart Kvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Alberto Kempes in the 22nd minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Alfonso Froylan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, LCPP's Lennart Kvist got control of the ball when Pastor Domeka tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pastor Domeka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lennart Kvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pastor Domeka came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lennart Kvist could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Pastor Domeka kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lennart Kvist. That made the score 1-0 in the 36 minute of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Pastor Domeka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pastor Domeka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pastor Domekas short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Lennart Kvist to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 42 minutes into the game, Pastor Domeka recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lennart Kvist. Pastor Domeka showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Lennart Kvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Domeka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lennart Kvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pastor Domeka's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Arnulfo Matai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Kvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. LCPP's Lennart Kvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Domeka in the 56th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Boca Juniors's corner Fermin Araoz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lennart Kvist quite easily take care of the ball. Alfonso Froylan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio-Paul Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute of the match Boca Juniors got a corner. LCPP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pastor Domeka ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Matijs Van Impe drilling the ball in to score 3-0 behind LCPP's goalkeeper. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Boca Juniors's Pastor Domeka looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lennart Kvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matijs Van Impe in the 81st minute of play. Pastor Domeka blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lennart Kvist having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Pastor Domeka put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lennart Kvist. After having played for 92 minutes, Atilano Medero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Medero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Ugaitz came free, but Alfonso Froylan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Boca Juniors had won after a very even match.
