The supporters of Pasion Roja booed when Los Gaticidas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zhu Yue didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Tití Fernandes Braga got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zhu Yue could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Djibril Mariaud made a huge save. A hard and well directed shot from Jonathan Acuña led 25 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Los Gaticidas's Claudio Umbruso became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. Claudio Umbruso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 石磊铮, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tití Fernandes Braga in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Djibril Mariaud prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute Los Gaticidas were awarded a corner. Fábio Rochemback went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Fábio Rochemback got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Djibril Mariaud quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Los Gaticidas's Claudio Umbruso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Los Gaticidas from getting a goal against them. Romano Ovando made a great header on Pasion Roja's corner, it was just that Los Gaticidas's Claudio Umbruso managed to reach the ball for a save.
