In the 12th minute of the match, Ruperto Amato tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Georgi Velinov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nuralp Eracar might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georgi Velinov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nuralp Eracar ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st minute of the match Florida United got a corner. Bahia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruperto Amato ran over to the corner to take the kick. Florida United's Ruperto Amato was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Georgi Velinov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Heriberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuralp Eracar in the 24th minute of play forced Bahia's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Nuralp Eracar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Georgi Velinov, 2-0. A hard shot 30 in the game by Mark Bållström from a close distance when the talented Georgi Velinov managed to make a qualified save. Bahia's players were relieved. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuralp Eracar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Sol Campbell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 52 minutes into the match, Mark Bållström notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Bahia's Georgi Velinov. Georgi Velinov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuralp Eracar, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Bållström in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Georgi Velinov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Nuralp Eracar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Georgi Velinov was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Amato in the 77th minute of play forced Bahia's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
