The referee showed Octavio Ospin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the match, Sportivo Desamparados's goal looked a bit too open when Pitoy Corton came free, but Ferdinand Poenaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliberto Deunoro in the 18th minute of play forced Sportivo Desamparados's goalkeeper Ferdinand Poenaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinand Poenaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roberto Navarro went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sportivo Desamparados's Giuliano Lovera suffered a fractured collar bone after 48 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 96th minute, Valentin Samuel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sportivo Desamparados fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. San Antonio FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
