The supporters of Malvinas Argentinas booed when Sportivo Desamparados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Ospin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Natanael in the 31st minute of play forced Sportivo Desamparados's goalkeeper Ferdinand Poenaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, King Chiellini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the game, Malvinas Argentinas's Hugo Natanael nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinand Poenaru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Ciceron was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Malvinas Argentinas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Toney to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 58 minutes, Hugo Natanael managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malvinas Argentinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Natanael was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hugo Natanael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Malvinas Argentinas's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Gutierrez came free, but Ermegildo Baristo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafin Quentin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Ferdinand Poenaru skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Desamparados's Giuliano Lovera got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Saverio Gutierrez kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Serafin Quentin might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ferdinand Poenaru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serafin Quentin ran back to his position shaking his head. Saverio Gutierrez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ermegildo Baristo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Sportivo Desamparados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Samuel to maneuver through the defense. If Miguel Ciceron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafin Quentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Malvinas Argentinas booed when Sportivo Desamparados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xie Chao Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Serafin Quentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermegildo Baristo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saverio Gutierrez in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Malvinas Argentinas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
