In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lanus's goalkeeper Maximo Berto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tommy Grunewald in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maximo Berto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lanus's Horacio Tab got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Edgardo Maria threw the ball into play from the sideline. Lanus's Cipriano Estebano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lanus's Maximo Berto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Lanus from getting a goal against them. After 23 played minutes, DIABLOS ROJOS FC's Bata Faso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maximo Berto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in DIABLOS ROJOS FC reached it. Maximo Berto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Frances in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Valério Vilaça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Candido Frances managed to get in a good position for a shot. DIABLOS ROJOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Candido Frances was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximo Berto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute, Horacio Tab ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Giro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horacio Tab in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abelardo Giro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horacio Tab to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Horacio Tab got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nemesio Jaizki kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Edgardo Maria's late challenge caught a Lanus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgardo Maria helped the player get up and apologised. 63 minutes into the game, Tommy Grunewald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Maximo Berto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 66 minutes of play, DIABLOS ROJOS FC's Tommy Grunewald made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximo Berto was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, DIABLOS ROJOS FC's Edgardo Maria got a free kick in the 75th minute. Horacio Tab could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Abelardo Giro made a huge save. Lázaro Delfino kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Lanus's Robustiano Rufo was substituted for Hugo Duro. Lanus made a substitution. Juan Orlanda replaced Nemesio Jaizki. In the 90th match minute, Lanus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Delfino to maneuver through the defense.
