An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordario in the 9th minute of play forced Goyo Rivas FC's goalkeeper Lars Seidenfad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Seidenfad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ago Tramp in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Ago Tramp made a precise shot to the right of Lars Seidenfad. Goyo Rivas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Velez Sarsfield's Erwin Huygens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristjan Laanes in the 15th minute of play. The Velez Sarsfield fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lars Seidenfad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Cordario went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goyo Rivas FC's goalkeeper Lars Seidenfad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ago Tramp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ago Tramp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Seidenfad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cirilo Pelayo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erwin Huygens came out and tried to block the shot, but Cirilo Pelayo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-5.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cirilo Pelayo made a kick off. When Augusto Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Cordario couldn't finish the play. Goyo Rivas FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Augusto Cordario scored to the left of an out of position Lars Seidenfad, making the score, 1-6. In the 56th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Cordario to maneuver through the defense. Lars Seidenfad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Cordario went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-7 was the resulting score. In the 64thth minute of the game Augusto Cordario who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goyo Rivas FC's Lars Seidenfad was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Piotrek Stepin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erwin Huygens having to interfere. Velez Sarsfield's Yiyo Bernal was substituted for Marcos Pacifico. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Cordario in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lars Seidenfad saved Goyo Rivas FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Pelayo in the 74th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Erwin Huygens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Goyo Rivas FC made a substitution. Godfredo Domiku replaced Florentino Francesco. Velez Sarsfield's Leandro Berti was substituted for Ignacio Berenguer. After having played for 95 minutes, Augusto Cordario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Cordario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Augusto Cordario had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lars Seidenfad. Goyo Rivas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Cordario was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Velez Sarsfield had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
