The audience thought a goal was coming when Habeeb Shevchenko got free with Atilano Esiquio in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Miguel Ángel Hvalica took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Atilano Esiquio to make any attempt to save it. Atilano Esiquio was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Habeeb Shevchenko capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Habeeb Shevchenko really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Carlos Teves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Teves came free, but Eriberto Enol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atilano Esiquio made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Habeeb Shevchenko sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute La Guardia Imperial were awarded a corner. Marcial Abaunza went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Marcial Abaunza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eriberto Enol quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carlos Teves took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eriberto Enol. Eriberto Enol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Habeeb Shevchenko got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Habeeb Shevchenko was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Club Deportivo Álvarez got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Berto. A hard shot by Marcial Abaunza from long distance, 54 minutes into the match, got Eriberto Enol's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Carlos Teves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Enol having to make a save. Eriberto Enol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Teves in the 57th minute of the match. La Guardia Imperial's Guillermo Dolcet quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alexis Santos, made in the 58th minute of the game. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Eriberto Enol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Álvarez from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, Alexis Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90th play minutes Carlos Teves shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Eriberto Enol and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, La Guardia Imperial's Carlos Teves got a free kick in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Miguel Ángel Hvalica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Álvarez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Guardia Imperial the free kick. Miguel Ángel Hvalica hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
