Vicente Igon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Berenguer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Maxi Rodríguez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After taking down the ball on Atlético y Tiro Rqta's corner Severino Benino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vladimiro Sedeni quite easily take care of the ball. Vladimiro Sedeni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Benino in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Florinio in the 37th minute of play forced Atlético y Tiro Rqta's goalkeeper Abelardo Berenguer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Lorenzo Florinio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Berenguer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Villarreal FC's Vladimiro Sedeni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juli Álvarez in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Atlético y Tiro Rqta were awarded a corner. Severino Benino went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villarreal FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Sedeni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vladimiro Sedeni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Benino in the 66th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Lorenzo Florinio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abelardo Berenguer. That made the score 1-3 in the 68 minute of play. Atlético y Tiro Rqta's Erubiel Munio was substituted for Juli Álvarez. Villarreal FC's Nicanor Honesto was substituted for Lorenzo Florinio. With a little luck, Atlético y Tiro Rqta's Abelardo Berenguer got control of the ball when Nicanor Honesto tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Villarreal FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
