The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ATLETICO MENDOZA's Václav Filipi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Demario in the 4th minute of play. Václav Filipi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustaquio Brion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes Calvo got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Jajko. 14 minutes into the game, Rolando Chesus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calvo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ATLETICO MENDOZA the free kick. With a little luck, Calvo's Lucio Emenon got control of the ball when Ivan Gentza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucio Emenon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Gentza in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute Eustaquio Brion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Václav Filipi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th match minute, Calvo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Chesus to maneuver through the defense. Jose Chale came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lucio Emenon could save by the left post. 31 minutes into the game, Maximino Ruy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lucio Emenon. Maximino Ruy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Calvo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Berenguer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 minutes of play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Lucas Haimar made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucio Emenon was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Chale got free with Lucio Emenon in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Lucas Haimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eustaquio Brion to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Prudencio Bidun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ivan Gentza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ATLETICO MENDOZA made a substitution. Justo Muno replaced Jose Chale. 64 minutes into the match, Ivan Gentza notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Calvo's Lucio Emenon. Lucio Emenon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ignacy Latocha during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ignacy Latocha kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Calvo's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Haimar came free, but Lucio Emenon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Ignacy Latocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Gentza kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Lucio Emenon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Ruy, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 97th minute, Ignacy Latocha fired a really elegant long shot, but Václav Filipi threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. ATLETICO MENDOZA fully deserved thier win.
