Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Arlo in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anthony Di Giandomenico prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute Patricio Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Di Giandomenico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alfredo Arlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 minutes, Mario Fliz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lima FC and the La Fenix players grew even worse after the yellow card. La Fenix made a substitution. Arnoldo Cambiasso replaced Alfredo Arlo. The supporters of La Fenix booed when Lima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eloy Truylos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Lima FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. La Fenix were winning 0-1.

Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Anthony Di Giandomenico successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 56 minutes into the match, Lima FC's goalkeeper Anthony Di Giandomenico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ayrton Senna. Anthony Di Giandomenico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Hernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Achille Ricciuti during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to La Fenix getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Achille Ricciuti hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Lima FC's goalkeeper Anthony Di Giandomenico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ayrton Senna. Ayrton Senna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Anthony Di Giandomenico when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lima FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eloy Truylos was slow to take the kick. During this time La Fenix's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Lima FC's goalie and right to Arnoldo Cambiasso. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Lima FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When the final whistle sounded La Fenix left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lima FC.
