After 2 played minutes Ardiles got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Estevon. Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Ardiles from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lugano 1 y 2's goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lugano 1 y 2's Marcelo Barovero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Venerando in the 11th minute of play. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Basajaun in the 13th minute of play. Donato Venerando struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Marcelo Barovero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ardiles. In the 16th match minute, Lugano 1 y 2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Toro to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Barovero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Abastas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Basajaun in the 22nd minute of play forced Lugano 1 y 2's goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Barovero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Abastas, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. If Indiana Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daren McCollum in the 29th minute of play. Lugano 1 y 2's Constantino Toro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Erik Kassentoft in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lugano 1 y 2's Marcelo Barovero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Basajaun in the 34th minute of play. With a little luck, Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft got control of the ball when Haroldo Laffitte tried to sneak it across the goal line.

After a rather tough play, Lugano 1 y 2's Daren McCollum got a free kick in the 55th minute. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match Ardiles got a corner. Lugano 1 y 2's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felipe Nuno ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Felipe Nuno almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lugano 1 y 2's Marcelo Barovero did a great save. After a rather tough play, Lugano 1 y 2's Leandro Hanot got a free kick in the 69th minute. Leandro Hanot kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Erik Kassentoft showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fermin Quintin, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristo Basajaun got free with Marcelo Barovero in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lugano 1 y 2's Fermin Quintin got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
